A Commonwealth Youth-Leadership Development Programme
Priyason Pauldurai, myself got selected as one among 500 international candidates to participate in the “DISCOVERING YOUNG LEADERS PROGRAMME 2013” it was great to see lawyers, activists, social entrepreneurs, knowledge bundles, social media experts, Youth workers, freelancers, policy makers, government representatives all meeting in one platform offered by “Commonwealth Youth Programme” and the ultimate aim of the the programme was to provide an online interactive forum to inspire, empower and expose young people to views and concepts of leadership, global trends in youth empowerment and the principles of youth development across the Commonwealth.Participants were leaders of youth organizations, aspiring youth leaders, and heads and members of National Youth Councils and youth associations/clubs, and are between 15 and 25 years old. Some of the key areas the programme focused:
“Discover how you see yourself, and how others see you as a leaderanalyse the connection between self-awareness and effective leadership;examine the essence of youth participation in governance and leading youth organisations; interact with other young leaders and share thoughts ,ideas and experience in leadership at the national and community levels and sharpen your leadership edge;decide on ACTIONS you will take in becoming the best leader the world has ever seen!!”This programme was funded by the Commonwealth Secretariat and all participants are fully sponsored. Clarity4D is also providing their Youth Profiles for free during this event. Myself being one among those participants from various countries got an opportunity to learn from everyone i met in the forum, understand more about myself, realised the third perspective, came to know about various youth policies and practices, leadership, team work and even communication. So just sharing a glimpse of screenshots of what happened in the forum that i got last year when i was undertaking this programme..
one love
