That Fear

It's been very long that I put up something here. And I actually gave up writing.  The inner fear is something that stops me from trying out something...  Like everyone else, I wanna get rid of it and yes, That is why I am back here writing something.
Oh, wait! It ain’t over…
Come on man... It ain’t over…!
Did you study engineering and you dream of being a photographer?

You are going to a 9 to 5 job and you don’t find time to jam with your bandmates.

You earn 25000 and you feel that you can’t afford a mac all by yourself because of the situation that
you gotta support your family financially?

You wanna travel around the world but you don’t find a way to start your journey.

You feel like you can’t afford to take your girlfriend to a festival because you don’t have that shit money.

You got two credit cards, you still feel that you need one more to pay your bills.

You are bisexual and you are afraid of telling to the world of who you are.

You love to live by the shades of nature and you stay in a classy apartment.

You wanted to be a developer and you feel that you ended up in a BPO.

You wanted to run your family business but your father feels that you might fail just like him?

You feel that the world is materialized and you wanna start it all over with organic farming on your terrace but unsure if that would be helpful for you to refresh life.

You love a girl so badly and you forgot that your dog needs your love.

You find peace by the Hindu practices and just because you are a Christian and you refrain from finding peace.

You are worried of your arrears and you feel like clearing it all and stand like a man in front of your relatives.

You are being bullied every time and you feel like you don’t stand a chance to fight them back.

You totally wanna ride on a rollercoaster and you step back just because you cannot overcome your fear.

You wanna help everyone in the world and yes your salary is just one hundred dollars.

You are totally a self-motivated one and you feel that something is stopping you.

You feel inferior about the way you look and you totally do not remember that you are the gem for your mother.

You wanna learn piano and you are 35.

You love a girl so much and you do not muster the courage to propose her.

You wanna do dreads on your hair and be like Bob Marley but you are worried about social rejections.

Oh Man! Come on. There might be n(n+1) number of shit reasons you might find why you are just one step below. But, Remember! You won’t be here reading this damn post if your mom was worried about the pain of delivering you. Nobody is ahead of you. Just go ahead. Push Harder. Be there and set the benchmark for somebody. I am not advising. I am just here trying to set a benchmark to overcome my fears!

We might meet as a successful rather a self-contended individual in some corner of life!

One Love,

Do you need headphones anymore?

Have you been thinking to buy a fancy headphones or have you bought one?

You are a type of person who changes to headphones mode once you enter the bus or a train or even a flight?

If you are one then this is for you brother!!

This is me Emerson an edm and headphones aficionado.. This headphones addiction all started back in 2010 when i started travelling to my college by public bus from gudiyattam to katpadi, a 40 min travel . All my friends were carrying mobiles and usually plugged in their headphones once entered the bus.

Even i thought it could be a time slayer then bought an i-pod together with a skull candy and got introduced to edm scene through a random friend. What’s better than edm+i-pod+skull candy..? Well four years of engineering got completed with no boring music and headphones.

Weeks back it happened for me to travel to katpadi by the same bus again but this time i got my headphones broken and i couldn’t carry it. I was worried about the stupid 40 mins travel without the i-pod.

I entered the bus and saw a pretty decent guy so chose to sit next to him. Once i sat.. he said hello i am ranjith with a big smile and asked my name.. i was confused as he smiled very enthusiastically as if he knows me. However i introduced myself and questioned him.. do you know me?
He said no!

The conversation goes by as i remember..

Ranjith: wer you are upto?
Me: Katpadi? And you!
Ranjith: katpadi and then Chennai... so what do you do?
Me : just completed engineering and trying up things on my passion.
Ranjith: that’s great man.. even i’m trying up things on ethical hacking research and preparing for upcoming competition.
Me: that’s good.
Ranjith: so you got a girl friend?
Me: nayii nyet! N you?
Ranjith : had one.
Me: no worries. Cheers bro.
Ranjith: what else thambi(lil bro)?
Me: so what you do other than your job and hacking thing? Party freak, tamil pulavar? Anything like that?
Ranjith : Nope man! I just spend my time meeting people. That’s it.. nothing much.
Me: how can that be a hobby bro.?
Ranjith: well i gotta question for you. Tell me how many persons knows you well personally?
Me : not much. But why?
Ranjith: How many lives you have got to live?
Me: Guess one life.!! Aint it?
Ranjith: well my hobby is to meet at least one new person a day and spare some time to know about him and let him know about me so that the next time we see each other we can share smiles.
Me : What’s the point?Ranjith : I’ve got one life to live.. I have to take care of my family too.. i have to work too hard to settle too.. i don’t have much money to travel across the world to see places. but i had to find a way to make my life better..and fortunately my country is blessed with 120+ crores of people and why not meet people and just speak with them and spread happiness with a smile on the face instead of sticking my face to a smartphone? Found this makes life better place. And then i reduced using mobiles when i travel and started speaking with my fellow passengers on the electric train i usually travel and surprisingly i got a lot of friends in that train..and when i am free.. i just go for a walk, wave a hi to a person, and speak with him for a while.

Me: sounds great.. btw how many have you met so far?
Ranjith: I don’t remember how many? But i can say when i travel ill make sure that i speak atleast with one person to save an extra smile for the next time i see him. I may or may not see him again! I wont even remember his name! I may even forget the face.. but that person will mostly recognise me and stare.. and once he stares i l understand that i’ve met him somewhere and i’d smile which makes me as well as the other person happy. What’s more better than spreading happiness?
Me: that’s really interesting and how it all happened? I mean this idea of meeting people.
Ranjith: on that day when i met a stranger who smiled at me asking for my name.. when the conversation went further he said “i have got one life and let me meet more people to make my life better”.
Me: so u r inspired by that person?
Ranjith: yes! And i am more than happy than i was before. And even you can spread happiness.. meet new people and know about them.. Instead of youtubing for interesting stuffs and facts meet people u’ll happen to come across a lot of interesting and inspiring people. I see these people as my Wikipedia.
Me: impressed thala.
Ranjith: you are already pretty good man.. because i see a lot of teen boys travelling with smartphones and headphones missing a lot of interesting happenings and people around them. I am happy for you because you didn’t plug your earphones yet to avoid the conversation which i see a lot of young people do.
Me : Cool bro! Gota leave cyoa! Great meeting you! Impressed! Before leaving Facebook profile name please..!
Ranjith: I don’t use facebook.. next time you happen to see me.. smile!! J J and see you too..
The stopping...!! End of conversation!!
Me: (mindvoice) nallavela...! i dint bring my headphones. Well who needs a headphone anymore while travelling? I was impressed to come across a hacker guy who has meeting new person everyday as his hobby.

When he can spread happiness y can't we too?
Even if we can't speak much? Why not a hi and a smile which can make a difference afterall we have got one life to live and this way obviously life gets better and interesting and nothing is wrong in knowing more people.

You don’t have to learn astrophysics to smile..
All you gotta do is..

Just forget to carry your headphones when you travel.. trust me.. try it once.. this is interesting..!
Who knows you might even end up finding a girl friend :P :P..!!
Do you need headphones anymore?

100% true and not a fiction.

One love,

Emerson.

Shoes | Hip Hop | Motivation

Hit the Rewind button and go back to 2011 New Year Eve, Mom calls me and presents  a 1000 rupees and says save this money for yourself and use it when you are in real need of some bugs. And as usual mind says” yea man u got some 1000 bugs and u have to find a way to spend it” and there came a sound from nowhere again from Abigail mind “dude you gotta buy some shoes for you, you need it”.  Well your heart says go on with what your mind says..
The very next day, lied to mom tat i need the money for paying exam fees and went to that all time favourite shop “ patternz”....there sleeping this wonderful pair of shoes shining with three colours “ neon green, lemon yellow and black laces” engraved dc.. Oops this is for real..? Am i gona really wear this shoes?? Goddamn it!! It looks like a beast mode enabled pair of shoes!! What would be the feeling when you wear this for the first time.. i was speaking to myself And there cometh a voice  “thambi(bro) what do you want?? Oh that’s the salesperson.. my reply was “ bro i m looking for this pair of shoes- this one neon green n lemon yellow” dc shoes.. well this one costs 1990 only.. uhhh?? Only??
again mind voice:

Man I’ve got only 1000 bugs and its 1990, god bless this shoes i don’t deserve one...left the shop with utter disappointment with no idea of purchasing them. While coming back home just saw writing on an auto rickshaw “think you can and definitely you will do it” now the heart says yes i can and why don’t i deserve?? All you gotta do is save the remaining cash and buy the shoes.

Later after reaching sweet home, came this thought what will be the plan for saving money after all mom gives me only 50 rupees a day and 45 rupees is for bus fare. If i save 5 bugs a day it will take atleast 198 days for me to buy. But before that what if some random guy purchases what’s mine. I can’t let that happen!! Ok i must go with an alternate plan too.. why can’t i work somewhere part time and earn something out of which i can make some money. But mum won’t allow me to do.. Anyways will have to find some way to purchase the shoes..

Two days later, some of your college senior calls me and asks “ bro we heard that you dance pretty well!! Why don’t you join us for the coming performance??” i said why not??? We met we practiced and on the second day of practice, the guy who is supposed to teach us stopped coming complaining about the timings and the the difficult part was handed over to me.. “ The choreography”.. Without even having a second thought remembering “think you can and definitely you will find a way to do it” took up the responsibility and did some basic hip-hop choreo for some random tracks. The day came.. the floor was all set.. and we performed.. end of the day.. people came looking for us showing some love and support for the performance. Although there were lags and mistakes, the crowd’s support was massive and the performance came out well.. Two days later one of the professor calls me to his cabin and says “ kid!! You nailed the other day!! And will you do me a favour??” Well appreciation made me reply“ anything sir!!” He then told me to go to his brother’s school  and teach the kids the same dance for their annual day show” I was like ok this can be an experience or a learning.

Entered the school, started the choreo, despite difficulties in making the kids understand the lessons, everything went well and the kids too performed tight and neat. The school’s management was really happy about the dance and they gave me a cover saying “ A small piece of gift from us”.. Wondering what would it be?? Opened the cover and waw it was a new 1000 rupee note. And now i have 2000 rupees.  Came the quote again to ma mind “think you can and definitely you will do it” uhhh “ yeay I did it “

Yes I found a way to do it.. I couldn’t wait to buy that pair of shoes.. The very next day i bought them.. Wore them throughout the day..people started commenting “ machi(dude) great shoes, stylish da etc etc...” and i was one happiest kid that day.. Sooner the shoes became the identity of me.. Even in a crowd people identifies me with the shoes.. When i go on the road what people notices about me is that unusual and strange bright coloured skytop shoes.. These pair of shoes was the identity of priyason for two years until it got seriously torn off and the bottom went so thin that there is no way i can wear them for any purpose again. It again went to sleep in the shoes rack and yesterday when mom was cleaning. She took out the shoes and told me that she is dumping all my old stuffs.. I was complaining “ Let the shoes stay” There was a big no from mom and she took them off for dumping..  Before that I just clicked some pics of them and its gone today..

And again my heart said
“Rest in Peace! My Identity! My First DC shoes!!
It could have been just another pair of shoes which you buy, use and throw..but this one was special because you bought it out of your first cash income and not just that.. it taught me a lesson “think you can and definitely you will do it”

Passion or Profession?? Well both!!!

The so called modern world loves new innovation, supports creativity, appreciates discovery, and respects talents. However to innovate, to be creative, to discover, to be that change. That person has to have some passion over what he wants to be or what he wishes to do.

Ever wondered??
Why not everyone successful?
Why does people sacrifices a lot of things, struggles much to become successful?
Why it is often people confuses between passion and profession??
Are these two words opposite to each other?? just like
Good-Bad
Tall-Short
Passion-Profession
Lol.. These must be actually carried together. But certainly not everyone gets an opportunity to work for what they love. So they gets used to the job they do and stops trying things to achieve that job they love to do.
Why?
Well consider this case!
A guy wants to be a dancer and he wishes to join a modern ballet academy. Well everyone knows about Indian parents..pushes him into engineering. What’s next?
Ok. He graduates as a well qualified engineer and works for a company that can pay him 2000 dollars a month.
Does these 2000 dollars mean that he is successful?
Even though he becomes successful with his engineering profession will he be actually satisfied with what he has achieved? A very fine day you go meet that successful engineer and ask him..
“What you wanted to be?”
He’ll say I wanted to be a dancer but due to my situation and circumstances I ended up as an engineer but I worked hard that I’m a successful engineer who takes home 2000 USD every month.
Ask him another question..
Do you consider that you are successful?
His reply will be. Nope I wanted to be a dancer which never happened. I’m successful in the profession i do. But for this success I’ve sacrificed my passion.
Give him a scale of one to ten… tell him to mark his satisfaction level for the success he has today
You know it well that he won’t give himself a grade more than a five.
it’s time to ask yourself..
Profession or Passion?
You may say i m gona take my passion as my career despite my family situation or financial background. But when it comes to reality you can’t really say that you will be successful with your passion too because there will be hundreds of people who will be there as your competitors and factually your father’s pocket will not be big enough to pay for your passion.
Sooner you’ll give up complaining that this world doesn’t respect talent. It asks for money.. It asks for recommendation.. You’ll always give a very good reason “my background couldn’t support me”!!
End of the day, you will be called a failure.
Wondering?? What is this guy trying to say??
Well am here to say you that despite your loads of syllabus, tons of works, financial troubles, family problems, you can still pursue your passion without having to give up anything..
People say You must choose one.. Either go with passion or go with your profession.
I m totally against such wonderful choose the best answer principle..
Let me ask you a simple question?
Have you ever thought.. I ll take up a profession that supports to pursue my passion. Once I m very confident that I’m a pro with what I have been pursuing all these days I l drop my job  and take up my passion as profession! Sounds great right?
Ha ha i can predict your next question..
Dear blogger!! From where do i find time to pursue my passion when i’m stuck up with my stressful job..
I’m gonna say you “don’t search for time”.. You have got the same 24 hours what barrack obama, Narendra Modi, Sachin Tendulkar, A farmer, a gate keeper, a sales person has got.
Well do you think time can show partiality for these people..?
My simple answer
You have got a mighty 24 hours..!! Make use of the wonderful time..
Lol.. anyways 24 hours is for all however it’s up to you that how you manage the given time.
So here’s a simple way I just figured out to manage your profession and passion without having to sacrifice one for the other. You know that you have got 24 hours a day..Why not we divide your day into 3 cycles of 8 hours each..
Name your first cyle: Profession
Let’s say ” Team Leader in a Software firm”
You are supposed to work not more than 8 hrs for an mnc.
Try to push your works little harder and finish of all your office work 30 minutes in prior to the day’s deadline.
Be faithful to your job not your boss.
Never say excuses.
Never think there is a tomorrow.
Name your last cycle: Sleep/Rest
Like you know every man needs at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep everyday to stay healthy. Ok you call yourself a so called most passionate musician in the world who sacrifices his sleep everyday to practice with the instruments.. What’s the point?? You are losing your health. It may affect your profession too. Very soon your boss will call you over the intercom and say “You’re fired”
You end up a loser again.. Focusing too much on passion and lose what you have got as a backup that supports you to pursue your passion.
Fortunately people who strive to be successful don’t usually come from a silver spoon background. So you need a financial support for getting your passion to the next level.
Its going to be your profession which will help you to pursue your passion and can make you a pro from a beginner.
Never compromise your sleep for passion or profession.
The remaining 8 hours is all for yourself. And nobody can take that away from you.
Ok..!
Lets Consider..
You have to do your daily chores. Take 1 hour..
You have your pending office works. Take 30 mins..
You need to spend time with your family and loved ones. Take 1 Hour
You need to be online/ social networking or skype with your girl friend? Take another 30 mins
You have a travel of 30 kms everyday. Take another one hour.
You have something else more important to do than what has mentioned above.. Take One more hour..
5 hours gone…
You still have 3 hours left..
Use this wonderful 3 hrs for pursuing your passion..
You will soon understand that passion or profession are brothers and they don’t have to fight against each other.
For 365 days if you can invest 3 hours. You have spent 1095 hours a year for your passion and definitely in a year or two you’ll say “ My passion is my profession now” and “my past job helped me to be here”.
Brother.. Its your time..
Take a piece of paper..
Schedule your 3 cycles..
And Let your passion meet profession.
If you have spent your time reading till here.. I can definitely say you have understood the importance of time and right now you will be thinking when to schedule your 3 hrs of passion..
May be “ 6 to 9” everyday..!!
Don’t ask me anyways will this really work??
Well I’d say..I’m practicing too.. But i’ve figured a way for the brothers- “passion and profession” to get along..
